Provide comprehensive medical care within an established remote clinical environment supporting personnel at Eareckson Air Station. This role combines emergency response, primary care, chronic disease management, and medical leadership within a professionally managed healthcare setting where clinical decision-making, care coordination, and operational continuity are essential to patient outcomes.
This position is best suited for clinicians comfortable practicing with a high degree of autonomy in a remote Alaska environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver acute, urgent, and emergency medical care while supporting ongoing primary and chronic care management for station personnel
Maintain readiness to respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization of serious or emergency medical conditions
Coordinate and manage medical evacuations, including clinical oversight, documentation, and continuity of care support
Provide clinical leadership, medical oversight, and quality-focused guidance for healthcare operations, patient safety, infection control, and medical documentation standards
Perform and interpret basic diagnostic X-rays and support telemedicine and teleradiology collaboration as needed
Maintain medical clinic readiness, medication accountability, equipment functionality, and compliance with healthcare regulations and established clinical standards
Collaborate with operational leadership and healthcare partners to support medical supply management, reporting, and continuity of healthcare services

Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in at least one U.S. state, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico
Nursing degree from an accredited institution with extensive emergency room experience
AANPCB or ANCC certification required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications and DEA license
Ability to respond to on-site emergencies within 30 minutes when on assignment
Ability to obtain and maintain required federal background screening (NACI/Tier 1 equivalent) if working more than 180 days within a fiscal year
U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required
Willingness to work in a remote island-based healthcare environment for extended assignments
Preferred
Previous experience in high-acuity remote, rural, military, or international healthcare environments
Experience coordinating medical evacuations and remote healthcare logistics
ATLS certification
Experience with telemedicine, teleradiology, and independent X-ray interpretation
