03Wards 7 and 8, east of the Anacostia
Federally designated shortage areas within the city limits. Community health centers, school-based programs, and hospital outreach clinics hire NPs here, and this is where loan-repayment eligibility most often applies.
04Suburban Maryland — Bethesda, Silver Spring, Prince George's County
The federal research and military medicine cluster sits in Bethesda, alongside large suburban hospital systems. Maryland grants full practice authority, but it is a separate license from the District's.
05Northern Virginia — Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax
